I am not a professional teacher in any field. I have also not found any single work of science fiction that focuses on a single topic to such a degree that it would be used as inspiration for study in said topic. Instead, I have selected passages from several works, each of which addresses multiple topics -- or at the very least deserves hyperlinked definitions of terms. The intent is to show the interconnectedness of human knowledge.
The site (wow.underbase.org -- yes, w-o-w, not www) contains excerpts from five separate works (short stories and novels), which should be adequately covered by the Fair Use provisions of U.S. copyright law. In fact, by word count the site is more excerpt than original material, but that's because I haven't yet written the commentary.
To repeat: as currently (30-June-2000) written, the site contains a foundation of excerpts and hyperlinks, but the glossary to which they point has not been completed, nor the topical commentaries that will accompany each fiction passage.
